Description
We are seeking funding to establish a dedicated School Podcast and Digital Recording Hub that can be accessed and used by large groups of pupils across KS2—particularly SEN and disadvantaged learners—to develop confidence with digital media and communication technology. Building on the success of last year’s trial podcast, where Year 5 pupils produced a short episode using basic equipment, this project will provide professional-quality recording tools and soundproofing to create a space that can be used successfully by large groups to produce even better podcasts.
This new event will take place over six dedicated 1-hour sessions, with pupils able to further improve their creations in independent dedicated time. Pupils will learn skills in audio recording, editing, scripting, teamwork and digital presentation. Resources will include microphones and soundproofing materials. Sessions will be hands-on and practical, led by staff but driven by pupil creativity. Pupils from all KS2 year groups will have the opportunity to contribute to planning, recording and producing podcast content, fostering both digital literacy and communication skills.
